Our Founder
Protection Associates was founded by Thomas Cann, a retired police Major having served with NJDOC. His extensive background with the NJDOC includes assignments at all law enforcement ranks within the department at various locations, having worked and trained in these capacities:
Experience at numerous NJ State Prisons and Specialized Units
Police academy instructor
Ceremonial Unit - member and supervisor
Special Operations Group (SOG) in response to 9/11 events
FBI Certified Crisis Negotiator
Federal Air Marshals In-Flight Tactical
SOG High Risk Transport / Security - Team leader
Central Medical Unit - Supervising Sergeant and Lieutenant
Central Transportation Unit - Training/Administrative Lieutenant
Statewide Inmate Labor Program - Supervising Lieutenant
